Chemist Dr. Rudolf Hauschka, a co-founder of Dr. Hauschka Skin Care, didn’t start off as a skin care formulator. For over thirty years the sole focus of WALA Heilmittel, the company he founded, was making homeopathic medicines that promoted health by treating illness at its root cause rather than simply relieving symptoms.
In the early 1960s, Dr. Hauschka began collaborating with Esthetician and Formulator Elisabeth Sigmund to create a revolutionary line of skin care that addressed the needs of the skin with the same holistic approach:
- Products were developed that respected and supported the skin’s natural processes to cleanse, balance and renew.
- Hauschka and Sigmund drew on centuries of knowledge of botanical ingredients and combined this with modern science and technology to create natural skin care products that resulted in balanced, beautiful skin.
- Powerfully gentle skin care techniques were developed that treated the skin with reverence, safe-guarding lasting skin health against “quick-fixes” that subverted skin functions.
- Dr. Hauschka Skin Care guides the skin to a balanced state while allowing it to remain self-sufficient so it’s never dependent upon products for health.
Sigmund and Hauschka established a skin care line that approached beauty from a clinical perspective, fostering skin health first and foremost—knowing that beauty would inevitably follow.
